Spaces Between Places
When I arrived in Crested Butte, I felt like I was living in a dream of sorts, the land had this peaceful, serene energy- I can only describe it as a "heavenly hug". Soon after arriving, I experienced a creative “download”- meaning, the words/ideas/inspiration & structure I was seeking for years simply came through my hands and onto my computer screen with clarity and ease, it felt as though every moment up until that point had led me to exactly that moment! I outlined a set of curriculums that take elementary, middle and high school girls on a journey -- to discover who they are, exploring the essential question "who am I?" -while building strength, and connecting to their bodies.
I wrote the program amongst snow-covered wildflowers, each word representing perhaps a seedling of potential, intended to resonate with teenage girls as they too, embark upon their own journeys to becoming the fullest expression of themselves.
esTeam hopes to be an essential light source for girls, providing keys that will help them find their deepest truths buried within. Guiding girls, not outside of themselves to find validation, but rather, encouraging them to begin right where they are, and to look inside themselves to access their wisdom. My wish is for all girls to recognize that their beauty, power, strength and wisdom has been in them all along.
And so, I sit here writing the remainder of this curriculum, in almost New England springtime, remembering to embrace the spaces between places - trusting that whatever comes next, will, one day, burst to life, like it does within every sun-kissed wildflower.
Here's to following the dreams within - trusting that every circle drawn in love will be complete unto itself.
Don’t meander aimlessly among the herb sellers and
potion venders.
Go directly to the shop
that sells nothing but sweets!
Don't sit waiting by every boiling pot
to have your plate filled!
Not every boiling pot
is cooking what you want.
Not every sugar cane is filled
with sugar.
Not every down has an up.
Not every eye has vision.
Not every sea contains pearls.
